Zali Steggall OAM MPZali is an Independent Federal Member of Parliament for Warringah. Zali is a powerful advocate for social and political change, especially around issues that are important to her community. These include advocating for climate action, as well as greater honesty and accountability in parliament around promises made in election campaigns. Zali grew up in Manly and represented Australia in four Olympic Games in alpine skiing. Post retirement from international sporting competition, Zali trained as a lawyer and became a successful barrister specialising in sports and family law. He is Professor of Youth Mental Health at the University of Melbourne, and founding editor of the journal Early Intervention in Psychiatry.
